Lock ammonia ions

Clinoptilolite (a hydrated calcium potassium sodium aluminosilicate) is a zeolite: a crystal riddled with microscopic pores carrying a permanent negative charge. As urine breaks down it releases positively-charged ammonium ions, and the mineral's charged framework binds them by ion exchange, holding them inside the pore structure so they can't gas off as ammonia.

Unlike sprays that treat individual incidents, PETFILL is a lasting part of the turf system. It gives years of protection from a single application, not a per-incident treatment. Its ion-exchange sites fill up over time, and weather and foot traffic gradually work the granules down, so a top-up keeps protection at full strength.

The same porous structure that traps ammonia also holds water. When rain, dew or irrigation lands on the turf, that held moisture evaporates and draws heat out of the surface.

Independent testing by Acousto-scan, an accredited lab that has worked for the AFL, Cricket Australia, FIFA and the ITF, measured an average 15°C surface-temperature drop on PETFILL-treated turf once combined with moisture. It is an average across the test conditions, not a promise for every day, and it depends on moisture being present.

Common questions

What people ask before they buy.

Why does the smell come back after I hose the turf?

Water spreads the uric-acid crystals and bacteria around, but it does not remove them. As things dry out, the smell returns. You need to break the crystals down with PLUS+ or kill the bacteria with SYNTURF, not just rinse.

Does an air freshener or scented spray do the same job?

Only until the scent fades. Masking sits one smell on top of another. smellBgone removes the source, so there is nothing left to cover.

Is it safe around pets and kids?

Yes. Everything is non-toxic and made in Australia. Keep pets off while you apply and let the area dry. For PETFILL, wear a dust mask and gloves while brushing it in, as a precaution against loose mineral dust.

How often do I need to reapply?

PLUS+ and SYNTURF are used as needed, incident by incident or as a regular turf sanitise. PETFILL is built into the turf and lasts years from 1 application. Top it up as weather and wear use up its capacity.

Which product do I actually need?
