Most cleaners wash the surface and leave a perfume behind, so the smell comes back once the scent fades or the area gets damp. Pet odour has 3 sources, and each smellBgone product removes 1. PLUS+ uses plant enzymes to digest the uric-acid crystals dried urine leaves in carpet and fabric. SYNTURF kills the bacteria living in turf backing. PETFILL traps the ammonia urine releases before it reaches the air. Nothing is masked, so there's nothing to wear off.

Yes, used as directed. PLUS+ is plant-based, pH-neutral, septic-safe and vegan, with no chlorine, ammonia or palm oil, so pets can walk on a treated spot once it's dry. SYNTURF is a disinfectant: keep pets and kids off while it's wet and let it dry before they go back on. PETFILL is a natural mineral with nothing added; wear a dust mask and gloves while brushing it in, as a precaution against loose mineral dust. All 3 are made in Australia.

Carpet, rugs, upholstery, mattresses, pet beds, car interiors, tiles, timber, paving and synthetic turf. It lifts urine, faeces and vomit from dogs, cats and people. On delicate or brightly dyed fabric, test a hidden patch first and let it dry. For a whole synthetic lawn, SYNTURF goes further: 1 litre of concentrate makes 10 litres of turf wash.

It contains no bleach, chlorine or ammonia, and it's soap-free and pH-neutral, so it leaves no soap residue to attract dirt. Colourfastness still varies from fabric to fabric, so on anything delicate or brightly dyed, test a hidden patch and let it dry before treating the stain.

Yes. PLUS+ breaks down the uric-acid crystals in cat and dog urine alike. Cat urine is more concentrated and cats tend to go back to the same spot, so soak wider than the visible mark, reach the underlay, and expect an old spot to need a second application once the first has dried.

Pick up solids and hose the area first. For a spot the dog keeps using, soak it with PLUS+ until the infill is wet, not just the blades: the enzymes need to reach the crystals in the backing. For the whole yard, mix SYNTURF at 100ml per litre of water and apply it with a pressure sprayer, working it into high-use areas. Neither needs rinsing. Treat in the early morning or evening, so the heat doesn't dry the product before it reaches the base.

On a fresh accident, most people find the smell's gone by the next morning. The enzymes keep working for 7 to 10 days, so an old stain keeps improving after the first night. If you can still smell it once it's fully dry, treat it again, soaking deeper and wider than the visible mark, because urine spreads underneath.

The 5L PLUS+ refills a 750ml trigger bottle 6 times. SYNTURF is a concentrate: at 100ml per litre for turf and pet areas, 2L makes 20L and 5L makes 50L of turf wash, and at 50ml per litre for floors it goes twice as far.

They can take the edge off a fresh smell, but neither breaks down the uric-acid crystals that keep releasing it, and neither kills the bacteria in turf backing. That's why the smell comes back when the area gets damp. Vinegar's acidity can also mark natural stone and some timber finishes.

Start with where the smell is. Inside, or a single spot outside: PLUS+, ready to spray. A whole synthetic lawn, run or kennel: SYNTURF, a concentrate mixed at 100ml per litre, so a 5L drum makes 50L. New turf, or turf you've just deep-cleaned: PETFILL, brushed into the infill to stop ammonia building up again. Still unsure? The finder on the home page will narrow it down.

It's heavy, and how much you need depends on your turf: PETFILL goes down at 5 to 15 kg per m², depending on the dogs using it, and comes in 15 kg bags. Send us your turf area and your dogs and we'll work out the bags and delivery, or find a stockist near you on the Stockists page.

No. PETFILL stops fresh urine turning into ammonia smell, but it can't reach odour that's already in the backing and sub-base. Wash the turf with SYNTURF first, at 100ml per litre, let it dry, then brush PETFILL in to keep it under control from then on.

Not much: about $5–10 per m² more than standard silica sand, so roughly $250–500 on a typical 50m² job. Most installers weigh that against not chasing odour complaints later.
